Do grocery stores accept crypto as a form of payment?

Asked 7 months ago

I take care of my elderly parents by buying groceries for them every week. Are there any grocery stores that accept crypto like Bitcoin as payment?

No major grocery stores accept cryptocurrency, yet. However, there are still a few ways you can use your digital assets to pay for groceries.

You can sign up for the BitPay Card. The BitPay Card is a Mastercard debit card that allows you to spend your cryptocurrency anywhere that accepts Mastercard. That includes most grocery stores, so you can easily use your crypto funds to buy groceries.

Another option is to buy gift cards to popular grocery stores in the BitPay app or Extension. BitPay supports gift cards for Whole Foods, Walmart, and dozens of other popular stores. So even if your favorite grocery store doesn't accept crypto payments directly, you can still use your digital assets to buy a gift card and shop there
