Four ways to trade gold on this list

Gold CFDs

A contract on the gold price, settled in cash. You never own gold, you can go long or short, and positions are leveraged, so losses can be larger than you expect. Overnight financing applies.

Gold spread bets

A UK product: you bet an amount per point that the gold price moves. Like a CFD it is leveraged and you never own gold.

Spot metals

Prices taken from the spot market (XAU/USD). Outside the US, retail clients usually get these as CFDs or rolling contracts, so the same leverage and risk rules apply.

Gold ETCs / ETFs

A security listed on an exchange that tracks the gold price, bought through a stock broker like a share. You own the security, not the metal. In Europe most of these products are ETCs.
